I am big on affirmations. I have been saying them and reading them for longer than I can remember. However, I feel that if you go to the trouble of saying these wonderful little gems, you might as well put all the feeling you can muster into it.
I like to take it a step further as well. If I say something along the lines of, "I love my life or my life is fun, funky and blessed", I then go out into the world and take an action which supports the affirmation. Taking action is the key to attaining the life you desire. You can be aligned, meditate 4 hours a day, do all the "right" things, but still your life won't really change. You need to get off your behind and get moving on those goals.
I think that is where most people get stuck. They don't know what to do, so they do nothing. Or they are comfortable in their misery. Or they use excuses as to why they are so miserable. I say do something, anything! It doesn't really matter. If you are stuck, go for a walk. Better yet, do something out of your comfort zone, just on the edge.
Nothing new can come into your life without you getting out of your comfort zone. It doesn't have to be something huge, just a step or two to give your mind, body and spirit a new perspective. Change can be scary, but it can also lead you somewhere awesome.
I am going to share a little secret with you (actually it isn't really a huge secret). When I am feeling overwhelmed or stuck I rearrange my furniture. The act of moving things and cleaning a bit really helps shift my perspective. Truly! Just ask my husband and kids. I also like to purge things I no longer use. I will either donate the items or have a yard sale. For me, this seemingly unrelated act really, really clears my head and shifts my awareness to the next step. If you feel brave, give it a whirl. Let me know what happens. Until next time...
