Morning all! Today I am reflecting a bit about life and love and all that stuff. Yesterday was my birthday, and with that I suppose I am pondering my life. Am I on track (whatever that means), am I doing enough (again, whatever that means), am I a good enough person, wife, mother, healer, etc??
The answer is that I don't know. How do you know if you are good enough? Is there such a thing as being "enough"? What's enough to one person may look very different to another. We are each do very unique and different, it is impossible to assign what is enough. This is the shit I think about.
One thing I firmly believe in, however, is making time for myself everyday to do something, anything that is just for me. I am not saying to take hours and hours (unless you want to). I am saying that by making some time to doing something fun and creative or whatever that is just for my pleasure, is sooooooo healing and inspiring. It is self love and it is perfect and divine. I can tell you from experience, when I don't give myself some good self lovin, I am a grumpy gal (get your mind out of the gutter).
You see when you take some time just for you, you are telling the Universe that you love yourself, and that your know your worth. When you step into that kind of relationship with the Universe (God, whatever you choose to call it), you are truly a powerful creator of your own experience. Cool huh?
So decide for yourself (if you choose) what makes you truly happy, then go do that. Easy peasy, lemon squeezey. Let me know how it goes. Until next time...
Lately I been taking some risks. Little risks like eating at a new and different restaurant and paddle boarding for the first time. They are still risks even if they are small. Doing something you have never done before is a new experience and can feel really scary. I know folks who always drive the same way to work, eat at the same restaurants, go on vacation to the same places, etc. You get my point. Doing the same things and going to the same places is comfortable, safe even.
I find it interesting that people want to change their lives, have a "better" relationship or career or whatever, but they won't even attempt to eat at a new restaurant. Sound silly? I think it is very telling if I have a conversation with someone who cringes at the thought of eating at an ethnic restaurant. You see if you want to change something, anything in your life, you MUST take a new action. If you wish to lose weight, you have to get off the couch and DO something different or eat slower or whatever.
I know I have written on this subject before, but I feel and think it is a very important topic. I see so many folks who want to make changes in their lives, but day after day they make the same choices over and over and over. Then they wonder why their life sucks or worse still, they believe that this is just how it is for them. We are such powerful creators. Truly, we each have the ability to create whatever the hell we want; we just need to make the choices that align to that goal.
So challenge yourself to do something, anything that is new and different. Something that you feel a little uncomfortable doing. Feel the fear and do it anyway. Let me know how awesome you feel afterwards. I will tell you a funny story (well I thought it was amusing at least). I was at the store last week and saw these beautiful figs for sale. I had never eaten fresh figs before. OMG, they were so stinkin delicious. I posted on Facebook that I didn't know where they had been all my life. The truth is, the figs have always been there, I just never saw them. Now I have a new love in my life, and it was because I took a tiny, itsy, bitsy, little risk and bought them. Until next time...
