8/15/2016 0 Comments Are you sensitive?Hello and a very happy Monday to you! I have been thinking lately (uh-oh). I have been thinking about some of the posts and groups on Facebook. You see I am an active social media entrepreneur, and because of this I get most of my clients from Facebook. I spend way too much time on social media actually. But I digress.
Lately I have been seeing lots of posts about being empathic and being so very sensitive to energy. Now part of me really resonates to this. I am super sensitive, and it is very easy for me to pick up the energy, the vibes, the moods of everyone, especially in the big box stores or on the news. But there is another part of me that wonders if it needs to be this way. Some folks are sooooo sensitive; their diet is very restricted, they cannot breathe the air around them, dust affects them, other peoples' energy is toxic and so on. Is this you? I have to say, I do not want to live this way. I want to be able to go where I choose without being totally drained. I want to be able to eat what I want without having it affect me so severely. But how? This is a very interesting topic in my opinion because there are some super sensitive souls out there. I am one of them. If you are reading this, you are probably one as well. Let me tell you a little story I just remembered yesterday. When I was in massage school (yep I used to rub people for a living), one of my teachers talked with me about meditating. He said that anyone can meditate in a quiet, dark room with lovely candles and music. It is nice. But someone who can meditate on a balcony, in a noisy city is someone who has mastered meditation. That story has stuck with me for years. Isn't the goal to be calm, cool and collected all the time and not just in your quiet space? Well it is becoming that way for me. I want to be able to hold my center and NOT be so affected when I go out into the world. It is all too easy to stay home in the comfort of my crystals (my happy place for sure). But I am not choosing that any longer. But how do we not be so affected by all the seemingly negative energy? Well, boundaries. Calling in your energy and strengthening your aura can help. Donna Eden has a great exercise called "the Zip-up" where you pretend you have a zipper from your pubic bone all the up to the bottom of your chin. You simply take a deep breath and zip yourself up. I used to think surrounding yourself in a bubble was a good idea. I am no longer a huge fan of that as it feels like you are trying to "protect" yourself against the big bad stuff "out there". I like to think that we are all one, but my energy is my energy, and I don't need to take on your energy. Make sense? It can boggle the mind sometimes thinking about all this metaphysical energy stuff. Certainly do what YOU feel is the best for you, always. These are just my thoughts this Monday morning. You can always repeat the phrase below if you feel like you have been zinged by energy. And if you need help with that, I can certainly do that too. Does any of this resonate with you? I would love to hear your thoughts on this subject? Until we connect?
