You are a complex, whole being! You are unique and amazing. What works for one person, may not work for you. And that is perfect. But if you are actively working on releasing weight, there are some things to consider if you desire lasting, positive changes. Only focusing on one of these areas will not help you with long term success in releasing weight and keeping it off. You have to address the physical stuff, like what you are eating or not eating, your exercise routine or lack of, your overall health, hydration, your sleep schedule and so on. You know, all the physical body function things. Then you need to address your emotional side. What emotions you may be suppressing, stuffing down with food and other addictions perhaps can absolutely sabotage any effort you are making to release weight (ie what you eat and moving your body). Past traumas, real or perceived, can make it very easy to put on weight and hard to shed. Your mental stuff needs to also be examined. Your beliefs around not only yourself and your body, but food, diets, what it takes to release weight, whether it is even possible for you to lose weight. Your beliefs are nestled deep into your subconscious mind, and you can have all the conscious willpower in the world, but if your subconscious mind has limiting programs running (behind the scenes like a computer program), then you will absolutely struggle to either release the weight or keep it off. And finally you need to take a peek at your spiritual self; the real you actually. You are, after all, a soul in a body, having this human experience. You have lived so many lives already. And believe it or not, what you do not resolve in one life, you carry over to the next like a big ‘ol suitcase until you heal it. That is one heavy suitcase I imagine. Your spiritual stuff is huge. You may be empathic and pick up all the energy in a room, that in turn becomes extra weight on your body for protection. You may also be out in the ethers because it feels so good and not grounded, which can also add weight to your body. You may have made an oath, vow or contract in another lifetime to be overweight or to struggle loving yourself. These need to be cleared and healed for lasting changes. While it is imperative that all of these aspects be examined, healed and integrated for successful weight release, the most important thing you need to find out and heal is YOUR root cause of your weight struggles. They can differ from person to person, but there is always an initial seed that was planted at some point in time that needs to be identified and cleared. This is where I come in. Health and wellness are pretty broad topics. I mean, what does being “healthy” or feeling a sense of “wellness” look like? It is different for everyone. Being healthy for one person may be getting off all the prescription medications. Another person may consider being healthy if they can run a marathon, release 50 pounds, eat a more balanced diet, heal a disease, have enough energy to play with their kids without huffing and puffing, etc. I think you get the picture. Like I said, “health and wellness” are pretty vague.
Plus there are different kinds of health and wellness. For example there is physical health, mental health, emotional health, wealth health, spiritual health. They all tend to blend and bleed through in all areas of our lives I have found. So I think the first question to ask yourself is what does it mean to me to be healthy? What would that feel like? How would my day be/look different if I was healthier? Are you committed to increasing your overall health and wellness? Are you willing to change what is not working in your life, whether that is the food you eat, moving your body more, leaving a relationship that is affecting your mental and emotional health, changing jobs for a more fulfilling career? These are not always easy choices, but I am here to remind you that only YOU can make changes to your life and improve your health and general wellness. Only you. This can be scary. That is okay. When you commit to yourself and your goals, get the support you need, do the work that is required (ie examining your choices, taking responsibility, healing and releasing all the things) you will come into better alignment for yourself, your body, your soul and your unique purpose in this life. This is the journey that I take my clients on. First you have to decide what health and wellness mean to you. You then to set some goals/intentions for yourself. After that you have to commit to doing whatever it takes to reach those goals. That is the very first part of the journey. These first steps are super important to get really clear on. Your ego self, that part of you that just wants to keep things the way they are which is comfortable and safe (even if you are miserable) will absolutely begin to kick up a huge fuss when you start talking about making changes in your life. You have to be clear in your end desire for your health, knowing the reasons why you desire better health. After all that happens, we get down to work figuring out the root cause of your health issues. This is done with my intuition, you and your higher self, help from your guide team, and other beings of 100% light. This is where energy healing and a lot of releasing happens. I have 20 years of experience, trainings, certifications and modalities that I pull from with each session depending on what is needed at the time. We will take journeys together to figure out where you gave your power away, got out of alignment and most importantly what you need to do to get back into alignment with your body, mind and soul. I want to share a few things with you. So get comfy.
You have several options when it comes to thinking about food and eating foods. Unfortunately, most of us who have struggled with weight, maybe for our entire lives, have been programmed to think that in order to release weight it is ALL about diet and exercise. That is only a mere piece of the puzzle. I wrote about that in another post. Let me know if you want me to tag you in that thread. Know this…..everything is energy. And everything has a vibration and frequency. Foods have a vibration just like everything else. If you eat chemical laden, deep fried, junky foods too much, your vibration can be lowered over time. Ultimately, and in a perfect world, it is about listening to your unique body and feeding your body the food it needs to run most optimally, while being at peace with all foods; while being neutral. But we are souls in these human bodies, and sometimes we just don’t listen to what our body is telling us. We get busy, stressed out and really freaking tired. As a result of that, we may not make the healthiest and most high vibin food choices. And your beliefs about foods can create an inner battle of good vs. bad. The stronger your food belief is, the more your body will react to it negatively if you eat that food. Let’s take sugar for instance. If I asked you what you felt or thought about eating sugar, you might say that it is “bad” for you, right? You most likely have all these thoughts, beliefs and programming around sugar. It is unhealthy, will make you fat, causes breakouts, etc. And you can be very regimented and strict with your food and never eat “those” foods. Because they are bad for you, which is fine. Those are your beliefs. Totally your choice. But what happens if you choose to eat a sugary food? One result of eating the sugary food is that you may feel bad about yourself either while you are eating that food or afterwards. You may be literally eating the energy of guilt and shame as you eat that “forbidden, bad” food. Yum yum. Or you can be truly at peace with ALL foods and eat what your body desires with love and blessings. Which route you take is your choice, your free will. What I have found, is the more I clean up my beliefs, and programming (with energy healing), the less I crave “those” foods, but if I do decide to eat something that might not have the highest vibration, I know that those foods will not harm me, because my beliefs tell me that I am safe no matter what. And I just enjoy whatever food I am desiring in that moment. I often find that if I just have a bite, that is all my body requires and I can just move on with peace and love in my heart because I am not restricting myself in any way. I can eat whatever I desire, and all is well. How awesome does THAT sound? Would you like for that to be your experience with foods as well? Knowing that whatever you eat, you are at peace with. It has been a minute (several actually) since I last wrote a blog piece. I have no real reason why. I suppose like you I got busy doing other things like watching the world we live in take a nose dive or perhaps I was just watching Netflix. Bridgerton was quite a nice distraction. But alas I am writing now, and the two people who read this blog will be super excited I am sure.
So what shall I ramble about today? How about the fact that we are a good two weeks into January 2021, and I have not done a great deal. I am just not "feeling it" for all of you spiritual folks. My energy has been okay, but when I think about my business and how I want to show up and serve (you know what all the business coaches tell you to do), I feel kinda "meh". I have always known I was here to help people, women in particular, to love themselves. And because I struggled with my body, weight and self esteem so much growing up, I know that I am here to help women with that too. And with the weight loss industry being a gazillion dollar industry, you'd think people would be lining up for me to help. It has not always been the case for me, and I think I know why. One of the reasons is because I don't focus on diet and exercise to release weight. And THAT is a huge program that people are running in their subconscious mind; the idea that it is all about the Twinkies and running on a treadmill for an hour. I definitely lose people when I talk about their belief systems. I find that most people just cannot seem to let that program go. I get it. We have been taught from a very early age that you have to "eat right and exercise" if you want to lose weight. And here's the thing, you absolutely can lose weight if you restrict your diet and move your body more. But, how many people do you know actually keep the weight off for a long period of time? Maybe a few. Most do not. Most gain it right back plus some. And they are so hyper focused on what they eat that they are a smidge neurotic. They count calories and worry about eating this or that. You want to live like that? I surely do not. Another reason that people aren't lining up around the corner for assistance is that they don't want to take the time and energy to look at their emotions, their baggage, their "stuff". It is uncomfortable. They have spent their whole life (and maybe a few past lives) stuffing their emotions down deep, and using food as their emotional support animal. I do not believe you have to go through any traumatic event again in order to heal it, but I do feel that you have to acknowledge them. Essentially we are these big 'ol bags of emotions in a body (or meat suit if you will), and when we suppress our feelings, they just hang out and fester in our energy bodies and eventually they migrate into the cells, tissues, organs in the physical body. That is usually when we begin to pay attention to our bodies by the way; when we start to feel like shit. We don't always realize that these emotions, traumas etc (real or perceived btw) have been around for a long time, years maybe and we have been numbing ourselves out so we don't have to "deal" with them. And lastly I think that people want guarantees in life. People want to know that if they invest in a program or session that I can "fix" them, and they will somehow magically release weight. I wish I had that super power. As with all things, you gotta show up for yourself and do the work for yourself. Sadly, most do not want to do the work. They would rather just move onto the next thing with the hope that this time it will work if they only give up xyz. But we know how that story ends. Just because you go on a diet and lose weight, does not mean you actually love yourself now. I teach and it is my belief that you have to love yourself right now as you hold the new vision of yourself, look at your programs and beliefs and do the work. That is why I call my programs, "Love Yourself Slimmer". Anyway, these are just some thoughts I have having in this now moment. Maybe no one will read this, or maybe I will get a few likes. It is all good either way. Until we meet again.....here's to your health. I was so excited yesterday when my new book, Love Yourself Slimmer came in the mail, hot off the press, if you will. I ordered myself 5 copies to have on hand, and they looked so beautiful. The cover is really pretty with my logo and everything. Then with the enthusiasm of a child on her birthday, I opened up the book and sighed.
The book did not look like what I submitted to the publishing company. The worksheets were not formatted correctly, quotes were broken up, and my heart sank for a minute. I worked really hard to get my new book all pretty and it turned out kinda poopy. Then I took a breath and decided, "Oh well, at least I wrote another book, and the information is still really good." After that, I did go online and write an email to the company to see what we can do to get this fixed. Hopefully it will be an easy fix, but I realized that sometimes you just gotta roll with it. It will be okay. I am choosing to not get super upset about it. I am choosing to celebrate the fact that it is out there and available for those who need it, and they won't care if it doesn't look as gorgeous as I intended it to. I suppose it was a bit of a lesson for me to surrender to that which I have no control over really. Where can you surrender in your life? It is very freeing to do so. Takes the pressure off for sure, and it shows me where I am still acting like a control freak in my own life. Let go, let flow is my mantra today. Until we meet again.......go forth and flow. 3/6/2020 0 Comments When in doubt, laugh.A few days ago I announced that my new book, Love Yourself Slimmer was released and ready for the world to read. And I was excited! I still am, but a funny thing happened just this morning that I want to talk about for a minute because maybe you can relate. You see, I found this morning a seed of doubt creeping into my awareness around whether or not my new book is "good enough", whether people will like it or even if it will help them. I started worrying about spelling errors that I might have missed and whether or not the final product will be formatted correctly. Just a bunch of doubt. Ever feel this way after you do something kinda big and different? Well I definitely was (and if I am being completely honest, still am just a bit). And you know what? It is okay. I would venture to say that this feeling is kinda normal even. Anytime you step outside of your comfort zone, there will be doubt. It didn't stop me from writing the book, so that is a good thing. A lot of times, doubt and fear can be so strong that we don't even get out of the gate with our ideas. I am here to tell you that doubt and fear will always be around when you are up-leveling and making your dreams a reality. And that is perfect. Be careful to not allow those doubts and fears to paralyze you though. That is just your ego wanting guarantees that everything will be perfect. But I challenge you to just enjoy the journey. You will not be the same person at the end of your quest. Enjoy the experience. Learn. Grow. Laugh. And just go for it. You will never know if you never try how wonderful your life can actually be. Anyway, I wanted to share that we all go through it, and you are never alone. I am here for you if you need to talk. I know you can do anything you choose to do. You can check it out here. 11/21/2019 0 Comments Why box yourself in?Lately I have been thinking about how I have been labeling myself and putting myself in a box and the systems that do just that. For instance Astrology. Most people nowadays know their astrological sign, at least their sun sign. Some people, including myself have had their whole chart done based on their birthday and time of birth. I will admit that the characteristics of these astrological signs can be pretty darn interesting.
However, and this is what I have pondering as of late, I am a soul in this body having a human experience, at this time. Is my soul this astrological sign or is it just the me that is living on this planet now? Interesting right? I think it is. Let’s take Numerology as well. Numerology can be super fascinating just like Astrology, but it is also based on your birth date and your full name. Again Numerology can be really cool, but it is limited to just this life and not the thousands of others I have most likely had. Unless of course I always come in with the same Numerology and Astrology chart, which I highly doubt. Moving on to the Human Design and Gene Keys. Cool ways to know yourself, but also based on this lifetime. I am in no way saying that these systems are not valuable, so don’t get your panties in a twist. I am just saying they are limited to only this time and space. Maybe that is okay. Maybe that is all you want to know about yourself. I happen to know that I am much bigger than this particular lifetime. My soul knows no bounds. My soul has lived in many, many bodies; different colors, different countries, different social classes, heck different planets even. I don’t want to limit myself. I tend to find that all of the above mentioned systems are limiting. I have never quite fit in any of those molds actually. Maybe that is just me, but I have never once read any of my charts (and yes I have had all of the above charts done for myself) and thought that they were without a doubt spot on. Not once. And before you say it, I am not interested in any other charts or tests or anything to know myself more. I am good. As of late I am tuning into my Higher Self, you know, my soul, for more and more guidance and inner knowing. She is the one who knows the most about, well, me. All the thousands of versions I have been, all the experiences I have had, adventures good and bad, personality quirks, everything. If you feel called to know yourself more in this body, at this time that is cool. Ultimately it is your choice. Go for it. Do what lights you up. But remember that this body that your soul is hanging out in has been around the block a time or two. They know YOU best. Why not talk to them and find out who you truly ARE at soul level. Just my two cents. How many times have you thought, “If I just join a gym I will lose weight?” How many times have you joined a gym only to stop going after a few months, or maybe you do go and do the same sad workout, day after day, not seeing any significant results in the mirror? It isn’t that exercise is bad. Movement that feels good, is so amazing for your body. An active lifestyle is even better than just a trip to the gym every other day. Building movement into your day helps your body burn those calories efficiently all day long. But if you think that exercise alone will help you lose weight permanently, you will be disappointed. Exercise is but one ingredient in the weight loss formula. Exercise helps you feel stronger, more confident, burns calories, reduces stress hormones and helps your mind relax. But weight issues are more complex than just throwing on walking shoes and going for a run. Weight issues have physical, mental, emotional and spiritual causes, and usually it is a combination of all of them. And just exercising is like putting a band-aid on a gunshot wound. It might help stop the bleeding, but you still have a deeper wound to heal. And as we are each unique and divine, so is the root cause of our weight issues. You can have a physical body imbalance that triggers weight gain; even some medicines can cause your body to retain extra weight, but I find that there is always an emotional upset or trauma (real or perceived) that is the actual root cause from where the physical manifestations begin to blossom. I often find that if you dig and dig some more, you will find that the root cause of weight issues (and quite frankly all health issues) is lack of love. Love of body. Love of self. Sounds kinda cheesy, but it is true. Lack of love can look like a million different things; not feeling worthy, depression, low self esteem, sabotaging yourself, addictions (all of them), people pleasing, door mat, etc. So you can go the gym like a boss, and cut all those carbs and you will see your body shrink most likely, as long as you are doing all those things. What happens when you stop cutting carbs though? You know what happens; you begin to put the weight right back on. This is because you have not gotten to the root of your particular weight issue, and the weight just keeps coming back not unlike a weed. When we don’t truly and completely love our bodies, we can find ourselves constantly berating ourselves, quietly in the comfort of our own minds. If you walk by a mirror and think, “OMG, I am so fat...” how do you think your body will respond to that? Is this love and care? Yet we do this to our bodies all...the...time. It is not helpful. And if you think about it like this, everything is energy. Everything has a vibration. This isn’t New Age stuff either; this is scientific fact. Everything has a frequency. Thoughts. Emotions. Objects. And if you are in a constant state of thinking bad thoughts about your stomach, your thighs, your butt, arms, chin, scars, stretch marks, cellulite, etc you are eating spoonful after spoonful of lower vibrational energy. Love, however, is high vibe frequency; the highest. What if you thought loving, kind thoughts about your body, yourself, your life? How do you think that would feel? Which would you rather eat spoonfuls of? Love or hate? I know which one I prefer. Let’s go back to the self loathing for a minute though. If you are thinking negatively about your body all throughout your day, how do you think it will affect you? Your mood? Do you think it would affect your food choices? The way you dress or carry yourself? Perhaps you would sit around more because, why bother? Or maybe it would get you fired up to make a resolution full of willpower and action (for a few weeks). Do you see where weight issues are not as simple as go to the gym and eat more vegetables? I hope I have enlightened you on this. You gotta heal the root cause, and that root cause is ultimately healing your lack of love of your body. When you can come into alignment with your body and body love, magic happens. The choices you begin to make are more effortless, flowing, feel really freaking good. You walk by a mirror and smile more. You begin to appreciate all that your body has done and does for you every moment of every day. You feel more confident in your skin. Yes there is deep healing that needs to happen, but you see this as self love vs. sheer will of force. I have created a group program that can help you lose weight, with way more ease and love!
