One of my Divine gifts is to be able to cut through the bull and really "see" what's going on around me. I am aware that not everyone has this "gift". It used to absolutely boggle my mind how distracted and seemingly unaware other people are. Some people just move through their day in their own little world, never really conscious of what if going on around them. It is like the parent who can hold a conversation with someone without even noticing that their child is running around and screaming. Now part of that is just being so used to the noise of a child that they are able to tune them out, but the other part is just being distracted or occupied by their own thoughts.
The thing about being so distracted is that you are not in the present moment. You are thinking about the past (woulda, shoulda, coulda) or you are worrying about the future (the what ifs). Being in the present moment is where all the magic happens. You cannot change the past, and if you continually worry about the future you can attract the very thing you are worrying about. Just be. Take a deep breath, and just be (even if it is only for a moment). Be. Here. Now. Allowing thoughts and feelings to distract you from the present moment is really just your mind playing Ego tricks with you. Tell your Ego to take a nap, and just give yourself permission to just be who you are, a Divine soul in a physical body. Being distracted all the time also keeps us from manifesting what we say we want. If you are busy, being busy and distracted, there is no room for the new, awesome stuff to come in. Do yourself a favor and be. When you are driving, just drive. When you are cleaning, just clean. When you are cooking, focus on that. Multitasking is all well and good, but does it really serve our Higher self? It keeps us super busy and distracted. Practice taking some time each day just being in the present moment and see what happens. You might enjoy it! Until next time...
